Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me…
I am the beginning and the end.
Revelation 22:12,13
Last words are often meaningful – this is particularly true for these words! They are the last words in the Bible, the true Word of God, on the risen Son of God: Jesus Christ. They are an impressive message and a sure promise!
HE will come again! He has promised and granted his resurrection life to all people who come to God with an honest confession of their sins and accept his work – the work of Jesus Christ at the cross of Calvary. It is to those that God will give eternal life!
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16).
The Bible begins with the words “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). Since we hear Jesus Christ say in that verse in Revelation 22 “I am the beginning…”, it means that he is God! He is the creator and the upholder of all things. And he is the Saviour of the world: he came to save human beings – you, too – from eternal death.
However, Jesus Christ is also the end! One day, he will be the judge of all people who did not believe on him. This is written in Acts 17:31: “He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”
There will be eternal damnation. Yet God does not want the death of the sinner. He “… desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:4) and is “not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). If you come to God even today and confess your sins remorsefully and repentantly and accept the work of Jesus Christ at Calvary, then God will give you new, divine and eternal life.
Please come to Jesus! His coming again is imminent.
